Farah Weldon
Farah provides in-person services at Self Care Counseling’s Loveland, Ohio location and also offers telehealth appointments. She works with teenagers, young adults, adults, and older adults. Farah is especially passionate about supporting clients from marginalized backgrounds and individuals from families or communities where seeking mental health care may still carry stigma.
Farah has a particular interest in helping people navigate transitional periods, including the challenges of emerging adulthood. She understands that clients may feel pressure to meet the expectations of others while trying to understand their own identities, values, and desires. Some may also have difficulty identifying, expressing, or making space for emotions they have learned to suppress.
Warm, conversational, and reflective, Farah uses a person-centered approach grounded in active listening, validation, and advocacy. She recognizes that beginning therapy can feel daunting and works to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where clients can relax and open up at their own pace. Farah respects that therapy is each client’s personal journey and never pressures them to discuss something before they are ready.
Through their work together, Farah hopes clients become more confident identifying their emotions, regulating their responses, and expressing what they need. She also helps clients explore mindfulness practices they can use outside of sessions while supporting them as they grow into their own unique and authentic selves.
Farah was drawn to the mental health field through her own lived experiences and witnessing people close to her struggle while feeling that there was no way forward. She finds it especially meaningful to see clients recognize their progress and begin thriving both inside and outside the therapy room.
Outside of work, Farah enjoys staying active through strength training, running, Pilates, and other forms of exercise.
