Christine “Chrissy” Ellis
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor — OhioLicensed Mental Health Counselor Associate — Indiana | She/Her/Hers
Christine “Chrissy” Ellis helps adults navigate trauma, grief, anxiety, panic, and challenges associated with borderline personality disorder. She offers a warm, affirming environment where clients can explore difficult emotions, understand patterns that leave them feeling stuck, and reconnect with their strengths.
Chrissy’s interest in counseling grew from experiencing the meaningful difference a supportive counselor can make. She brings empathy, respect, and genuine care to each session, taking time to understand the person beyond their symptoms. Her approach is person-centered: clients help guide the direction of therapy while she offers thoughtful questions, gentle guidance, and opportunities for deeper exploration.
Chrissy tailors counseling to each person’s needs, drawing on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt techniques, and inner child work. She helps clients explore thoughts and feelings, build emotional regulation skills, and work through experiences that affect their relationships and daily lives.
She has completed training in DBT and IFS, along with coursework and workshops in addiction treatment, LGBTQ+ concerns, and transgender-related issues. She is also continuing her education through a complex trauma course. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Chrissy values providing an affirming space where clients can explore identity, relationships, and life experiences with openness and respect.
Chrissy understands that starting therapy can feel vulnerable. She encourages clients to begin with whatever feels most important or manageable, knowing they do not need to have everything figured out. Her goal is to help people recognize the strength and resilience they already possess while developing new ways to move forward.
Based out of Self Care Counseling’s Loveland office, Chrissy currently provides telehealth services to clients in Ohio and Indiana. She holds independent licenses in Ohio and practices under supervision in Indiana.
Outside of work, Chrissy enjoys gardening, exercising, traveling, solving puzzles, and gaming.
