Charlotte Kaeppner

Charlotte provides in-person services at Self Care Counseling’s Loveland, Ohio location and also offers telehealth appointments throughout Ohio. She works with teenagers, young adults, adults, and older adults. Charlotte is especially passionate about providing identity-affirming care to members of the LGBTQ+ community and supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, social anxiety, loneliness, difficulty setting boundaries, or low self-confidence.

Charlotte’s approach is person-centered and grounded in empathy, understanding, and authentic connection. She incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy and externalizing techniques to help clients understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She also helps clients view their challenges as experiences they are navigating rather than definitions of who they are.

Warm, collaborative, and conversational, Charlotte works with each client to create a therapeutic space that feels safe, comfortable, and uniquely their own. She understands that trust takes time and respects each client’s pace as they process worries, stressors, relationships, and life experiences. Charlotte strives to ensure that every part of a client’s identity is affirmed, validated, and respected.

Through therapy, Charlotte hopes to help clients strengthen their self-awareness, deepen their understanding of themselves, and develop the motivation and confidence needed to create meaningful change. She believes clients can become powerful catalysts for their own healing when they have the support and space to explore who they are and what they need.

Charlotte’s passion for helping others led her to the mental health field. She also serves on the executive team of a chapter of Counselors for Social Justice, reflecting her commitment to advocacy, inclusion, and equitable care.

Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys reading, taking walks, watching television, and traveling.
